Survivor Resources

Below is a list of resources for survivors that include specialized consent forms, media releases, ethical storytelling guidelines, and more.  These resources are updated frequently so please check back often.  Please note that the forms, where applicable, are not to replace advice from an attorney.

Ethical Storytelling

This is a guide to help you navigate what ethical storytelling is, how to negotiate terms of agreements to share your story with others, like nonprofits.

Consent Forms

These forms are to be an aide to you in helping you navigate how to give proper consent to share your story and how to revoke access should you change your mind.  These are meant to be a guide only and do not replace the legal advice of an attorney.

Media Policy

This media policy is a separate form from the one above which you can use when someone asks you to speak at any type of event so they have an understanding of what you are willing to agree to and what you are not.  This is meant to be a guide only and does not replace the legal advice of an attorney.

Legal Resources

One helpful resources is the Street Grace Justice Project which was created to help survivors get their records vacated or expunged. It started in Georgia, but now they partner with pro bono attorney's across the country to aide in this process.  Note that it does depend upon the states current vacatur and expungement laws as to whether this program is able to assist in providing a pro bono attorney and/or resources.  If you would like to participate or at least start the process, you can email sgjp@streetgrace.org.
