Organizational Resources

Below is a list of resources to aide organizations on helping survivors, including ethical storytelling and trauma informed care.

NOTE:  These resources are being constantly updated, so please check back if a link is not available.

Ethical Storytelling

Every organization needs help with ethical storytelling.  This guide will aide you in asking survivors about sharing their testimonies in a way that is honoring and respectful, while also protecting them.  Please feel free to download this resource and reach out if you have any questions or need further guidance.

Consent Form

Consent forms are key when asking survivors to share their stories.  Unfortunately, many consent forms take the power away from the survivor.  The aim of the consent form is to help you properly request consent in a way that is respectful, dignified, and allows the survivor to maintain the full rights to their story and content.

Grievance Process

The survivors you serve need a way to file grievances so they are not only heard, but so you can see what adjustments may need to be made within your programming or organization.  It's a healthy process that will help you stay aware and to aide in training your staff.

Process of data storage

This process will aide you in keeping the stories and files you collect on survivors encrypted and will aide you in helping those within your organization understand the importance of keeping the privacy of the survivors you work with.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is widely talked bout and many organizations are doing it.  We want to provide some additional insight into this type of care and how you can continue staying updated on the latest research and practices.
